Résumé: Tourism is a major sector in the world economy. For countries like France, China, Malaysia, it represents a profitable source of exportation of services and contributes to jobs creation and to local, national and even regional development. To get at it, those countries set up policies that help for good organization and prosperity of that activity. Such is the case of Cameroon who for some decades manifests a real political willingness to booster the tourism sector. However, touristic policy developed at national level is not always visible in the application at local level. In other words, there is a considerable gap between decisions taken at the national institutions’ level and their application at the level of a district for example. This study put an emphasis on this gap by considering the case of Melong district, transit zone between Littoral and West regions. Our analysis is based on the inadequacy problematic between the national touristic policies and their effectivity in Melong district. To arrive at showing the contribution of touristic policies to the infrastructures development and services in Melong, our work used hypothetico-deductive approach. Surveys made on the field associated with documents reading helped us for data collection on the inefficacity of touristic policies and the influence they can have on the populations living mode. Valorization strategies of tourism in Melong district should contribute to the development of infrastructures, services and to the well-being of populations by generating diverse jobs. In conclusion, for an effective and lasting contribution to Cameroun development, Melong district must improve its touristic functioning by considering the policies of the matter and trying to adapt the mat local level and this, through promoters and the CTD for a visible development.
