Potentialités touristiques et développement de l’arrondissement de Batchenga (centre- Cameroun).

Abstract

Our study is based on a sample random sampling of 16 villages in Batchenga sub-division. Our study has as main objectif to show that if the touristic potentials of the Batchenga sub-division are transformed into final touristic products, they will contribute to the local development. In so doing, investigation was done on the field through the administration of questionnaires to the population and interview guides to resource persons. As a result we came to discover that tourism in Batchenga sub-division suffers from various ills: the bad state of raods, insufficient lodging facilities, the non valorization of tourism potentials, the absence of funding and touristic promotion, the absence of a touristic map and the lack of interest on the part of the population and the elites. At the end of our study we came to the conclusion that the promotion of tourism activites can naturally contribute to the direct socio-economic development of the locality (creation of direct and indirect employment, construction of communication facilities. Consequently tourism through the offering of quality services, the safeguard of cultural heritage will become essential gear for local development. Suggestions and efforts should be made in terms of the valorization of natural and touristic sites, valorization of cultural heritage in a bit satisfy the needs of tourist in search of rich and diversified journey and stay. The state has to apply touristic policies in collaboration with local actors and invest in the tourism sector in the Batchenga Sub- division.
